The Molfrid Center
Approximately 300 meters from the Queson City dumpsite, the so called Smokey Valley, we find the Molfrid Center. In this very special area thousands of families live from scavenging directly on the dumpsite. This hazardous work is a threat to their mental and physical wellbeing.
In 1989 the SCM built the Molfrid Center to cater to the needs of the people around the dump. Here a Pre-School with the capacity of 170 children is in operation. There is also a medical and a dental clinic as well as administration areas for the Sponsorship program.
In addition to the above mentioned activities the SCM uses the center for the Unite, Earn and Learn project which is aimed at community and socio-economic development. In June 2008 a Skills Training Center was started on the same premises.
